Streams, waterfalls and mountain lakes - the region around Matrei in Osttirol has some exciting white water games to offer. Whether kayaking, canyoning or wild rafting tours - here you can experience natural adventures in the midst of a dreamlike mountain world. Especially the Isel with its white water has a special charm for kayakers and rafting fans. Every level of difficulty is available, from a romantic river walk to the ultimate kick of rafting or waterfall jumping with a kayak. Between Matrei and Lienz it offers numerous rafting routes. The season starts in mid-May and ends in September. Rafting is almost weather-independent and therefore an interesting alternative even in bad weather.
