Anras

Hours of sunshine every year

The unique scattered settlement of Anras lies high above the Pustertal Valley on the sunny slopes of the Villgrater mountains. The place can be reached via the beautiful Pustertal High Route (panoramic road) and is perfectly convinces by its townscape and the wonderful surrounding mountain panorama. Since Anras is located on a sunny plateau, numerous hours of sunshine are guaranteed all year. The place has changed a lot since the time of World War II. Many houses were built and make Anras, which was once known as the "granary of the Pustertal Valley", now shine in a different light. Many years ago, Anras Castle was the summer residence of the Bishop of Bressanone. As before, the former asylum enriches the townscape of Anras, as it is one of the most important secular architectural monuments in Osttirol.

In summer, the idyllic Kristeinertal valley is the perfect place for wonderful hikes. In and around Anras you can also be cycle on numerous routes or simply on the Pustertal High Route. After breakfast, you can swing the racket in the warm morning sun on the tennis court of Anras.

When the winter has come in Osttirol, the landscape around Anras turns into a snow-covered winter wonderland. With their snowy slopes and rugged peaks, the Villgrater mountains and the foothills of the Lienz Dolomites complete this fantastic winter scenery. Ski tours and snowshoe hikes in the picturesque landscape ensure unforgettable impressions. The latter experience can also be made on the high-altitude cross-country trail in the unique natural surroundings of Anras. In addition to a T-bar lift in the village, where especially children and beginners can improve their swing on the skis, Anras also has its own toboggan run.

Weather in Anras

Forecast:

A large area of low pressure is situated over Central Europe! Low pressure does not necessarily mean bad weather as each low contains areas of rain as well as brighter areas. For today we should be pessimistic, however! Unfortunately, our region is at the heart of the main area of precipitation and we will therefore get thick cloud and frequent precipitation.

Tendency:

On Saturday, on Sunday and in Monday showers will gradually die away to leave brighter spells.
