The Defereggental is known to be one of the least populated areas in the Austrian Alps. The big party and the next party metropolis are definitely not to be found in the Defereggental in winter. All the better, because this leaves more space for winter and Mother Hulda, who is very kind to the Defereggental year after year, to spread out. And you have more space to enjoy winter as it was meant to be in essence and as it is most beautiful: Namely with lots of snow, magnificent mountain scenery and in peace and quiet. In the Skizentrum St. Jakob i. D., for example, you'll find everything a skier's heart desires and there's one thing you certainly won't miss: The hustle and bustle and long queues. In the Defereggental, the clocks tick a little differently and this ski area is a real insider tip.
