With the biggest mountains in Austria in sight – the 3798 metre Großglockner & the 3666 metre Großvenediger – alpine summer fairy-tales come true. 2500 kilometres of signposted hiking routes in total take you past thundering mountain streams, through the valleys to secluded alpine lodges.
Osttirol scores points with its seven ski areas. Cross-country skiers will find a paradise – with 400 kilometres of well-tended slopes. Out on hikes through the National Park with a „snow-shoe ranger“ you will encounter chamois and ibex, while tourers are very well catered for in Villgratental.
