Arrival in the sunny south

An alpine crossing for people who don't like to go with the flow.

Even on the busiest travel days, it is surprisingly quiet at the Felbertauern. The partly three-lane road winds its way up to 1,632 m in long curves, right through the high alpine landscape of the Natonal Park Hohe Tauern. To the left and right of the roadway, three-thousand-metre peaks rise into the air, waterfalls tumble thunderously into the valley and alpine huts can be found not far from the Felbertauernstraße. "astonish instead of jam" literally applies here, on the journey over the Felbertauern to Osttirol.
