The winter hiking trail starts shortly after the Matreier Tauernhaus. After the small bridge over the Tauernbach stream, follow the prepared path on the dam crest to the bridge at the Wohlgemuthsalmen. The crunching underfoot and the gentle gurgling of the Tauernbach stream beneath the thick ice floes will bring you to absolute peace. After the bridge, you have a good view of the idyllically situated Wohlgemuthsalmen. The way back to the starting point is via the other side of the stream.
