Description

The starting point of the walk "the power of water" is the parking place Proßegg on the right-hand side in front of the bridge Proßeggbrücke. Follow the path in direction of water flow of the stream Tauernbach for about 30 minutes. Then turn left and follow the dam path of the stream Bretterwandbach to the Rauterplatz. Once at Rauterplatz, walk up the street Tauerntalstraße between the Raiffeisenbank and the Hotel Rauter to the Gerichtsplatz, where the  police of Matrei in Osttirol is also stationed. The old courthouse, built between 1530 and 1539 and remodelled in 1717, is listed for preservation. The building is characterised by Gothic and Baroque elements. Afterwards, turn left and walk past the bakery Joast. Cross the bridge and walk down the stream Bretterwandbach to the end of the path. Then turn first left and then immediately right. Follow the street Virgener Straße in a southerly direction until you reaching the Brugger Brücke. Cross the bridge. Immediately after the Brugger bridge, turn right and follow the path to the house Bruggen Nr. 2. Then go down to the stream Tauernbach and follow the dam path. The chapel Schapperkirchl, which is located along the path,

The path continues to the bridge Proßeggbrücke. Then turn left up the district Proßegg to the little church Proßegg Kirchl. Continue along the road to the next fork. Here you take the road to the right and walk to the chapel Annakapelle. To return to the starting point, the bridge Proßeggbrücke, take the path through the district Proßegg again.
