The "World-old majesty", as the Großvenediger is known, is the fourth highest summit in Austria and probably one of the most undertaken ski tours in the Hohe Tauern National Park. After all from the valley there is a considerable 2182 metres altitude to tackle. Those who would like to shorten the climbing time can stay the night in Johannishütte and get to the summit from there in 5 hours.
