The walk starts at the Korberplatz. Then you walk in a northerly direction along the street Virgener Straße. When you reach the fork, turn left and walk to Rauterplatz. Afterwards you pass the tourist information office and walk along the Hintermarkt. At the end of the Hintermarkt you will come to a junction and the so-called Schützenstöckl. In the Schützenstöckl, formerly Franzosenstöckl, you will find the wooden figure of St. Sebastian, the patron saint of the companies. At this junction, turn right and then immediately left onto the street Rosa-Ghedina-Straße. Follow this road to its end. Then turn left and walk towards the chapel Lourdeskapelle. The neo-Gothic chapel has a five-sided choir, a pointed arched tuff portal and a wooden rose window. At the Lourdeskapelle, turn around and follow the street Neumarktstraße in an easterly direction. At the end of the street, go down for about 50 meters and, at the pharmacy, turn left onto the street Marstallweg. Follow the Marstallweg until reaching two small bends to the right and the chapel Bachkapelle. The magnificent baroque altar with its rich carved ornamentation dates back to the first half of the 18th century. Then you go down the ditch path along the stream Bretterwandbach . At the end of the Grabenweg turn left, cross the bridge and head towards the Kirchplatz. At the Kirchplatz there is a monument commemorating the Tyrolean wars of liberation (Tiroler Freiheitskämpfe) in 1809, with cast reliefs depicting the two leaders of Matrei in Osttirol, Anton Wallner and Johann Panzl. The route continues down the streets Pattergasse and Remlerstraße, crossing the street Lienzerstraße to the street Bichler Straße. Pass the minigolf course and follow the Bichler Straße until reaching house no. 8. Then turn right onto the street Virgil-Rainer-Straße and walk back to the starting point.
