The route starts at the tourist information office in Matrei in Osttirol on Rauterplatz (town center). Parking is available at the parking lot by the gondola lift (first two rows) and at the Korberplatz parking lot. The trail runs on the right-hand side of the Bretterwandbach stream down to the Dammweg or Tauerntalwanderweg trail. Always walking against the direction of the Tauernbach stream, you will reach the hamlet of Prossegg after 45 minutes. After crossing the Prossegg bridge, the trail climbs slightly through the rows of houses in the village. After passing the magnificent Hergott Materl, the trail leads onto the Thiemeweg. The newly designed Thiemeweg trail attracts visitors with numerous interactive stations that challenge your skill and creativity. At the end of the trail, continue south to the Zedlacher Paradies parking lot (1,450 m) and then on to the mountain village of Zedlach. A stroll through the Zedlacher Paradies is also worthwhile.
