Hiking trails for families

Here you will find a selection of easy hikes that can be done with children of all ages. You will reach places with a wonderful view, easily accessible peaks, rustic huts or crystal clear mountain lakes. Some of our hiking trails are also walkable with a stroller.

Adventure hiking with children

Hiking and observing nature is only something for older people? There is pure boredom preprogrammed? Not true! With the adventure programs and adventure trails along Osttirol’s family hiking trails, even younger guests get their money's worth. Because lovely prepared nature and adventure trails give children the opportunity to discover Osttirol's biodiversity and experience the flora and fauna of the surrounding area with all their senses. Water rats, for example, will have fun with the Water experience trail St. Jakob. Or how about the Children's nature adventure trail in Kals?

A hike in combination with a playground?

So that the offspring can really let off steam from time to time, some family hiking trails lead past lovely designed (nature) playgrounds: The Children's mile Golzentipp at the local mountain of Tilliach, for example, or the Family park Zettersfeld. Those who prefer it flat can explore the Talrundweg trail Kals am Großglockner and its playgrounds.

Or let the Osttiroler nature become an adventure playground by showing it to your children through our themed trails, which educate about the local animals and plants. Here we can recommend you, among other things, to visit the Theme path "Route through Virgen's open fields and pastures" or the Höfe Trail. Flowers along the way, streams for refreshment and small animals that you may have only known from picture books are waiting for you.
