Freeride trail Peter Sagan Trail

The "Peter Sagan Trail" is THE trail for bike park specialists. It is considered as very playful, action-packed, extremely demanding and also promises a lot of air time.
With a length of over 4.8 kilometres and about 55 steep turns, the trail offers a plenty of variety, starting from the Sternalm to the Moosalm and continuing down to the finish at the Schlossberg.

Due to its difficulty profile, the trail is suitable for both experienced mountain bikers and beginners.

Flow Family Trail

The Flow Family Trail starts in the Moosalm area at an altitude of around 1,000 metres and can be reached directly by lift. Beginners, families and pros who want to take it easy are equally well catered for here. The blue single trail is a perfect combination of flow and jumpline - you can expect pumps, numerous berms, small tables and alternative gaps for those who want to challenge themselves. If you want to stay on the safe side, use the specially created chicken lines to avoid jumps. This means that even inexperienced riders can turn into the valley without losing their footing.

Suitable for beginners.

Attention: The road traffic regulations apply from the Bruck Castle area! Please drive slowly and with foresight.

Alban Lakata Trail

The Alban Lakata Trail, named after the 3-time mountain bike marathon world champion from Osttirol, also starts at the Moosalm. The 2.2 kilometre red trail winds its way past the Venedigerwarte, through forest passages and over the World Cup ski slope towards the Schlossbergbahn valley station. In addition to several ski jumps, three wooden bridges, jumps with wave combinations, many changes of direction and challenging sections await you along the trail. Some features can be bypassed. Incidentally, the trail is now an integral part of the Red Bull Dolomitenmann. Lakata himself says: "The wave combinations in particular are a great offer for pros and beginners alike. There's something for everyone!"

Suitable for experienced riders!

Attention: Road traffic regulations apply from the end of the trail! Please ride slowly and with foresight.

‘The fact is, the Lienz Dolomites region has the potential to become one of the leading cycling destinations in the Alpine area in a few years. The ‘Lakata’ trail and the parks in Kals are just the beginning. Even more spectacular bike parks will emerge in Osttirol’, states tourist board representative Franz Theurl about their commitment in this sector.

Incidentally, tickets are available at the cash desk at Hochstein valley station. Free car parking is available directly at Hochstein valley station.

Peter Sagan Trail

From the Moosalm, the chairlift takes you to the starting point of two other trails, one of which is the Peter Sagan Trail. Named after the Slovakian three-time cycling world champion, this red descent is a real challenge. The approx. 5 km long single trail leads into the Alban Lakata Trail and awaits you with plenty of flow, massive airtime and an unrivalled panorama. Both trails together are an impressive 7.1 kilometres long and are therefore a challenge for experienced bikers.

Welcome to the Jungle Line

If you really want to challenge yourself, try this variant of the Peter Sagan Trail. The black trail starts at the same point, but then leads you a crisp 600 metres through the Hochsteinwald forest along the fall line over stone fields and root passages into the depths before it leads back into the Peter Sagan Trail. A comparatively short single trail, but one that really packs a punch!

Pump track at Lienz

Pumptrack

The World Cup pump track at the valley station of the Lienz cable cars on the mountain Hochstein is perfect for warming up, practising and improving your coordination on two wheels. Simply drop by during the cable car opening hours and hop on your bike - plenty of action awaits! Rules of behaviour on the pump track.

Rules of behaviour on the pump track

  • Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Use at your own risk!
  • Parents are liable for their children!
  • Always stop outside the route
  • Keep rolling surface and 2 m surrounding area clear
  • Use of the 1 metre wide facility is only permitted with suitable protective equipment (helmet, protectors, etc.) and suitable biking equipment (bikes, balance bikes, likeabikes) and is at your own risk.
  • Prohibitions: Skateboards, inline skates, scooters, motorised devices
  • Check the system before travelling and do not use it in the event of damage, incompleteness or bad weather (e.g. rain, snow, ice, poor visibility) - report damage
  • Adapt use to capabilities, retain control
  • Suitable for beginners and advanced users
  • Children aged 3 and over can ride the pump track with the help of their parents!

Tipps for parents:

Walk along inside the pump track and use your back hand to stabilise your child under the armpit. Use your front hand to stabilise the handlebars if necessary. The child's feet should touch the ground when seated. Work your way up step by step from sitting to standing.

How it works:

A rollercoaster feeling motivates young and old and promotes the improvement of motor skills. Here you can build up speed without pedalling by cleverly shifting your body weight before and after each wave as well as applying dynamic curve technology skills. Just stay loose in the hip and firmly grip your handlebars

Tips for parents:

Children from the age of 3 can improve their motor skills here. Go inside the pump track and stabilize your child with your posterior hand under the armpit. Use your front hand to stabilize the handlebars if necessary. The children's feet are supposed to touch the ground while sitting. Encourage the children to alternate from sitting to a standing position - creating momentum by up and down body movements – this is called “pumping”.

Rules:

Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult
Use at your own risk!
Parents are responsible for their children!
Spectators keep off the track at all times
Keep the track plus the 2 metres surrounding it  free
Use of the 1m wide track is only permitted with suitable protective equipment (helmet, protectors, etc) and suitable bikes and is at your own risk (bicycles, balance bikes, likeabikes)
Prohibited:  Skateboards, inline skates, scooters, motorized devices
Please check the facility before cycling and do not use it in case of damage, incompleteness and bad weather (e.g. rain, snow, ice, poor visibility) and please report any damage!
