Description

The remains of an old wooden ladder at the start are reminders of the once sparse protection available on the route to the Spitzenstein. In the past few years new, modern steel anchoring and a via ferrata route rope have been provided, which means another mountain in Hochpustertal is accessible via a via ferrata route – difficulty level A/B. The view from this most westerly Dolomite ridge summit is well worth it for the views which extend from Toblach to Lienz.

Difficult sections: A/B. Since in sections of the crumbly steep terrain safety ropes have not been able to be provided, absolute sure-footedness is required for the exposed sections!
