This interesting path has been around since the time of the First World War and has been restored in the past few years by Italian mountaineers. The lofty ridge climb proceeds from Filmoorhöhe (2457 m) via impressive buttes to the grassy ridge summits – then via an iron ladder up to two rock tunnels – then there is an exposed crossing to caverns with a 'Wandbuch' – from the final rocky knoll once again on a short descent via crevices to the saddle before the Wildkarlegg (2532 m). The descent proceeds from there via a steep scree area down to Oberer Stuckensee.
Difficult sections: B/C. Ridge crossing with longer, in part very high unsecured sections. At two sections a descent can be made across rock gullies.
