The St. Helena Chapel is the smaller of the two chapels in the ‘Tilliacher Mösern’ and is located not far from the district of Bergen below the Gailtal main road.
According to tradition, this is the oldest sacred building in the upper Lesachtal valley. Built in the Romanesque style, closed under Emperor Josef II between 1780 and 1786. Rebuilt around 1850, remodelled as the Lourdes Chapel in 1891 and restored in 1903. St Helena's Chapel has been discovered by many photographers as an atmospheric motif in the Tilliach fields and adorns many a calendar page.
