The gate to the Grossvenediger!

The hut of the Austrian Tourist Club (ÖTK for short) was built in 1887 and is one of the oldest and highest in the Eastern Alps. It was named after the famous painter "Franz von Defregger". From the hut, the shortest approach leads via the "Rainerkees" to the Großvenediger 3,657 m. Due to the crevasse-rich glacier, the use of a mountain guide is strongly recommended.
