Autumn vacation in Osttirol

The call of the mountains

In autumn, Osttirol shows itself in its most beautiful form. Autumn time is above all one thing: mountain time. And connoisseur time. And if you perk up your ears during this time, you will hear it more clearly than in any other season: the silent call of the mountains.

This call is particularly clearly audible in Osttirol - like morning dew, like the purest mountain air, like an explosion of colors, like delicious Schlipfkrapfen at quaint mountain cottages and much more. Now the hiking, biking and enjoyment season goes into overtime. Unspoiled nature, moments of tranquility, power spots to switch off and recharge, natural treasures - in autumn the sunny balcony on the southern side of the Alps shows its most beautiful side.

Beautiful autumn festivals with culinary highlights

In autumn, the cows, sheep and goats return from the pastures, and in the fields the crops are harvested. Convivial and religious festivals throughout the country bring down the sadness about the passing summer. The farmers will gladly share their joy with you, and thus they invite guests all over the country to enjoy entertaining festivities that particularly delight connoisseurs. The focus is on potatoes, apples, plums, bacon, cheese and mountain lamb specialties, such as the classic Schöpsenbraten, which is served with potatoes from Osttirol of the “OSKAR” cultivar. Thanks to the special potato cultivar and the mountain lamb of Osttirol, Osttirol is one of the selected regions in Austria for enjoyment.
