11th Austria Ski Touring Festival

23.01 - 26.01.2025

The 11th Austria Ski Touring Festival in Osttirol is once again all about ski touring. It brings experts and amateur athletes together - for more fun and safety on the mountain. Visitors have the opportunity to try out the most beautiful routes on site together with the mountain and ski guides.

With digital live broadcasts of the expert talks, live discussion rounds and live tours, the 11th Austria Ski Touring Festival takes on a new dimension and once again puts Osttirol in the spotlight as an attractive ski touring destination in Austria .

Under the motto "On the trail of freedom", the ski touring festival is once again taking place in Osttirol this year. Hardly any other region in the Alps stands for more intense nature experiences. 266 three-thousand-metre peaks, 1,500 square kilometers of untouched nature and valleys that have never seen a lift: This is the recipe that makes Osttirol one of the most popular regions for ski tourers.

At the heart of the festival are guided ski tours and an intensive exchange with the mountain and ski guides in Osttirol: As professionals, they know the most beautiful routes in the area and share tips and tricks for a successful tour with participants.

All those who can't be there can simply benefit from Osttirols alpine expertise from home : The live discussion rounds with experts and tour reports will be broadcast online on Friday and Saturday by our media partner Studio K19. The livestream will be available on this page.

Experts & live discussion partners

Franz Theurl / Chairman TVB Osttirol

Dear friends of ski touring,
When the Austria Ski Touring Festival was launched, it was primarily about prevention and the fascination of ski touring. The content of this event, which is now known far beyond the borders of Osttirol, has not changed much. The original aim of getting more people interested in ski touring and providing them with valuable knowledge and experience for the open terrain is still the focus.

Over the past 11 years, the number of ski tourers has more than doubled and this has created an interesting target group for the sporting goods trade as well as for tourism. I am delighted to be able to welcome you to the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park this time. As the venue for the 11th Austria Ski Touring Festival, the market town of Matrei in Osttirol can offer a wonderful infrastructure in addition to its central location. A warm welcome!

Egon Kleinlercher, Chairman of the Osttirol Mountain and Ski Guides

As you may have already seen from the program, this year we are guests in the market town of Matrei in Osttirol, from where you can go ski touring in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park. I am convinced that, together with my colleagues, we will share unforgettable moments in the fascinating mountain world of Osttirol. So see you soon in Osttirol!
